板新給水廠位於新北市三峽區，隸屬於台灣自來水公司第十二區管理處，自65年建成至今已發展成為淨水製程最具規模之水場。惟給水廠入口門面因使用年份已40餘年，歷經長年日曬雨淋，整體外觀出現漆面脫落現象，亦因機電及維安管制需求增加，訊號線路及電力設備未作整理規劃，以及設施色彩未整合統一、植栽景觀未定期修剪等諸多問題，致使門面日趨雜亂，較難展現事業品牌之精神。
設計發想的目標，除了強化事業品牌的視覺辨識性，也期望運用水廠回收淤泥再製而成的紅磚作為主要景觀運用之材料，除了呼應循環再利用的環境友善精神，也期待藉由入口空間重塑，創造更具層次性的建築表情。

在打除警衛室及臨馬路兩側之既設花台後，改造執行由建築表層基面開始處理，在表層剝落較為嚴重處施以抗裂玻纖網加強保護，立面色彩上除了延續事業品牌藍色之外，另挑選與背側植栽相近的沉穩綠色作為圍牆陪襯，使建築更為立體，視覺也較為清爽活潑。
為提升建築立面的整體性，移除橫向覆蓋式的立面招牌、特別訂製規格化的電線美化蓋板收束一致的垂直向度語彙，包覆既有外露紛亂的管線外亦保有日後維修的可能性。
臨馬路兩側重新規劃人行鋪面，在有限的預算內施做PC打底刷毛作為地舖層的質地，運用回收淤泥紅磚從地面延伸到立面，利用三層紅磚的進退錯落，搭配地被、灌木、喬木與碎石，在地舖、矮牆、花台、座位及圍牆之間創造更為豐富的視覺景觀層次。

同白天的建築氛圍，在夜間照明的改善上試圖營造更為溫潤和緩的照明效果，於車道上方裝設更均勻佈光的筒燈設備，並在建築上方ㄇ字結構內裝設投射燈，讓夜晚的建築量體更為清晰卻不刺眼，並於入口兩側座椅底部設置間接照明，讓燈光由內向外延伸，柔和整體環境。

Located in Sanxia District, New Taipei City and affiliated to the Twelfth Branch, Taiwan Water Corporation, the Bansin Water Treatment Plant has become the largest in water purification among its counterparts in Taiwan since its establishment in 1976. However, the façade of its main entrance has been in use and weather-beaten for more than 40 years, hence the peeling paint on its overall appearance. On top of that, the main entrance is getting unkempt and unable to reflect the corporation’s spirit due to the incongruous facility colors, the inadequately pruned landscaping, and the unorganized signal cables and electrical equipment for the increasing demand of machinery system and security control.
Apart from facilitating the corporation’s brand recognition, our design also utilizes the bricks made from the recycled sludge in this plant as the landscaping material, which not only echoes the environment-friendly spirit of recycling, but also creates a more profound architectural expression for the main entrance space.
After removing the planters at the guardroom and the two sides facing the road, we started the transformation by tackling the architectural surface. We employed crack-resistant fiberglass mesh to reinforce the area where the paint is obviously peeling. In terms of the façade’s color, we applied blue, the original brand color, to the main entrance, and subdued green, similar to that of the backside planting, to the perimeter wall as an ideal foil. This not only gives the architecture a more distinctive silhouette, but also renders it visually refreshing and animated.

To improve the integrity of the façade, we replaced the horizontal signboard with specially customized wire beautification cover to create a consistent vertical vocabulary, which not only protects the originally exposed messy wires but also allows for future maintenance.
At the two sides facing the road, we reorganized the pedestrian zone with a brushed precast concrete finish on a limited budget. Then we employed the red bricks made from the recycled sludge to connect the ground with the façade. The three layers of imbricated bricks, along with the pavement, shrubs, trees, and gravel, collectively constitute a richer visual landscape that shines brilliantly in the company of the pedestrian zone, low walls, planters, seats, and perimeter walls.

By reference to the architectural atmosphere in the daytime, we sought to improve the nighttime lighting by producing a warmer and gentler effect. We installed not only downlights above the driveway for a more even illumination but also spotlights in the U-shaped structures to sharpen the contour line of the architectural mass without making it dazzling at night. We also installed indirect lighting at the bottom of the seats on both sides of the entrance that allows the light to extend from the inside to the outside, thereby softening the overall environment.
